About this statement
Walking the Chalk Path is a small private personal website, not a public-sector service. This voluntary statement explains the steps taken to improve access and the areas that may still need work.
What you should be able to do
- Zoom text and page content using your browser.
- Move through the main navigation and page links using a keyboard.
- Read pages with a screen reader using headings and ordinary text structure.
- Use the site on a phone, tablet or larger screen.
- Understand links and page headings written in plain language.
Design choices
The site uses a simple navigation, a consistent page structure, readable spacing, visible focus styles and colour combinations chosen for clear contrast. Meaning is not intended to depend on colour alone. Images should include alternative text where they communicate information.
Known limitations
- The Instagram carousel is supplied by a third-party plugin. Its controls and imported captions may not offer the same level of access as the rest of the site.
- Some decorative illustrations contain detailed visual elements that cannot be fully conveyed in a short text description.
- Linked third-party websites, including Instagram, are outside this site’s control.
- The site has had a practical self-check, but has not yet had a full independent WCAG 2.2 AA audit.
